Halfway Reflection - Assignment 14

  1. Tenaciousness is a competency:
Behaviors that I use to keep up
    • I draft out one assignment each day (Mon, Tues, Wed) and on Thursday I polish them and publish them on the blog.
    • I watch the lecture videos at the beginning of the week
    • I complete the cupcakes and peer reviews on Sundays
    • I also read the feedback to improve my assignments each week

  2. Tenaciousness is also an attitude:
    • There have been a few assignments that just seem tedious to me and I think about not doing them. because I can loose a few points and still get a good grade (mostly on the interview assignments). What pulled me through is that I like to give my classes all that I have got and I should not think about the assignments like just a few points. I have been developing this attitude for a few years through work and my academics because in the real world the work you do isn't worth "just a few points".

  3. Three tips:
    • Make up a schedule to keep up with your assignments (they can pile up)
    • Read the feed back you get
    • Give each assignment full effort, they challenge your way of thinking

  1. Hey Maria,
I connect to the behaviors that you do to keep up this class. I also really like the tips you have given. For me, I always need an outline of my week so that I know how much time I need to set aside for each class and its assignments. I think this is generally the way to success especially now that we are home and dont have much motivation to work.
    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Hi Maria,
I really like the behaviors you outlined, they show that you are a responsible person and care about this class. I can definitely relate to you in the sense that there has been some assignments that I did not want to do and procrastinated on, but reminded myself that the assignments are there for a reason and it's not just for points.Great tips!

  3. Hi Maria,
I like the way you organized your assignment. It is easy for me to see how you distinguish tenaciousness as a competency from how it is an attitude. I agree that organization and time management are especially important for online classes, particularly this one. This is not a class you can scramble to do assignments for, and it is crucial to have a set schedule to get all the work done adequately. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Hi Maria,
I really enjoyed reading what you had to say about tenaciousness. I feel that I sometimes also get in the mindset that I can also lose a few points, and I get really lazy. But, I get in a mindset and remind myself of how important going above and beyond in my classes is to me. I too am someone who gives it their all.

  5. Hello Maria,
What a great post in my opinion. Your second view on tenaciousness and how you go about work is great. I never thought about it in that aspect, but oh boy did it make me view differently. Truly one of my favorite posts. Great Work!
