What’s Your Secret Sauce? - Assignment 16
* I have had trouble uploading the recordings onto sound cloud so I have included the transcripts of each interview
- What makes my human capital unique
- I speak 3 different languages fluently (Spanish, English and Italian)
- I have lived in Guatemala for most of my life and in Gainesville since I started UF. I learned how to adapt to very different cultures.
- I work hard, I put in 100% into every project I work on, no matter how big or small it is.
- I am always eager to learn, I am willing to learn something new to become better or turn in a better project.
- I work with people well. I work with people but don't walk over them to get ahead, I think that it is important to achieve success without achieving it at the expense of someone else.
- Interviews
- Ana: Ana was my supervisor at my internship last summer
- Maria is a really hard worker, every project she was assigned to she would deliver something beyond what was asked of her. She was valuable because of this because she brought new approaches and ideas on how to handle certain projects at the company. She designed a product matrix that improved the previous one significantly, we still use it!
- Edwin: Edwin was my co worker last year at my internship
- The best aspect that Maria had while working with us is that she worked so well with the team. She was very shy at first but was always taking everyone's ideas into consideration. Once she adjusted to the team she brought in so many ideas and always was a team player, she gave 100% on her projects and was always willing to help others.
- Jordan: My best friend that I met at UF
- The best thing about you is that you grasp so strongly to your culture but yet embrace the culture that you found when you came to UF. Truly you embrace so many cultures and always want to know about someone else's culture You are so open minded and click with so many people. You are also such a hard worker.
- Joe: My younger brother
- What makes you stand out is your eagerness to learn, whether it is a new language, a process/ method, or about people. That makes you special because you are always bringing new things to the table.
- Francisco: My father
- What makes you unique is the fact that you work hard at everything, I have seen it first hand when you interned for me. In fact, you surprised me with the level of commitment you gave at each task. I remember when you left how my workers would come up to me and say how great it was to work with you and how you always turned in amazing projects.
- My list and the interviews agree on many aspects. The aspect that came through the most was my ability to work open mindedly with others and how hard I work. The first item on my list did not come through as much, probably because I don't speak all three languages when talking to the people I interview. I guess that would be the only point that I would revise.
